Elements of Competency Performance Criteria
Element: Assess state of current SCADA system integration with workplace Industry 4.0 operations
  • Identify Industry 4.0 systems used in the workplace that have a current or potential connection to SCADA system
  • Identify equipment and processes and required to be monitored and controlled by the SCADA system
  • Identify hardware, PLCs and PLC programming, networking and other features SCADA system
  • Identify cyber-security protocols used with the current SCADA system
  • Assess if an integration gap exists between current SCADA system and workplace Industry 4.0 systems

Element: Use SCADA system and identify any potential improvements
  • Interrogate SCADA system to obtain current, historical or predicted information
  • Monitor and evaluate scope and integrity of SCADA information according to workplace procedures
  • Identify and rectify inefficient uses of SCADA system
  • Provide support to others in the use of SCADA system according to workplace procedures
  • Troubleshoot unexpected situations in consultation with relevant personnel

Element: Document and maintain SCADA system
  • Update and maintain a library of SCADA objects and templatesaccording to workplace procedures
  • Document, maintain and update operating and response instructions for SCADA system
  • Document connections and networking protocols between SCADA system and Industry 4.0 workplace systems
  • Obtain approval for documentation according to workplace procedures

Element: Identify options for improved integration of SCADA with Industry 4.0 systems
  • Determine scope for additional SCADA data collection and control through additional sensors, instrumentation, PLC’s, Remote Terminal Units (RTU’s) and wired and/or WiFi networking
  • Assess suitability of Internet and web-based SCADA for delivering improved SCADA and Industry 4.0 integration
  • Prepare recommendations for improved integration of SCADA with Industry 4.0 systems

Submission Requirements

List each assessment task's title, type (eg project, observation/demonstration, essay, assignment, checklist) and due date here

Assessment task 1: [title]      Due date:

(add new lines for each of the assessment tasks)

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.
